The villa, built in the late Art Nouveau style, is owned by the family that founded the pharmaceuticals company of the same name. It currently houses the local branch of the 'Associazione Nazionale Alpini' (National Alpini Association) and is used as a venue for various events.

The villa was designed in 1902 by the architect Federico Frigerio from Como, commissioned by a business magnate who wanted to create a miniature version of Versailles in the village. Numerous sculptors and decorators worked on the villa, where the descendents of the chemist Alberto Bonacossa now live
