Cappella di S. Maria della Neve

Mountain Cultural/natural/religious point of interest

Located in the hamlet of Monticello on a small hill that marks the border with Lumino, it was consecrated in 1513 and extended in the 17th century. The present building has a Baroque plan with a cross-vaulted choir. Inside there is an eye-catching 16th-century painting of Our Lady of Loreto that has been touched up and numerous polychrome statues and painted altarpieces.

Palazzo Viscardi

Mountain Cultural/natural/religious point of interest

The building was erected next to the collegiate church in 1548 and altered between 1680 and 1700 by Giovanni Antonio Viscardi, architect at the court of the Bavarian electoral prince. Of noble proportions, it has a rectangular plan and is on three floors with a vaulted stairwell. Over the portal is a Gothic double lancet window from Palazzo Trivulzio in Roveredo. It acquired its present aspect following restoration work in 1948 to set up the Moesano Museum.
